Built by carers, for carers

    About Nurtura

An AI companion designed for the reality of family care.

    Alexandria's story

I didn't set out to build an AI company.

I set out to survive caring for my parents.

    The Story Behind Nurtura

    Nurtura - Dad

First, it was my dad — Nurtura's namesake.

He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and I found myself trying to support him from different cities, different states, and eventually, different countries — navigating long trips home, emotional landmines, a full-time job at a fast-growing startup, and a constant fear that I wasn't doing enough.

Dad passed away in 2022, and I miss him every single day. Caring for him was the greatest act of love I could give to the person who meant so much to me.

Then came my mom's cancer diagnosis.

Suddenly, I was back in it: surgeries, spreadsheets, medication schedules, and endless decisions. I became the point person — coordinating, calling, managing, worrying.

My brother lived four hours away, doing his best to support from a distance while also caring for his newborn son. But as so many families know, care rarely divides evenly.

That's when I started imagining something different.

"No matter how much I planned or organised, I always felt one step behind — exhausted, overwhelmed, and stretched impossibly thin."

    That's why I built Nurtura.

Nurtura is an AI companion designed for the way family care actually happens: messy, emotional, and often spread across cities, countries, and generations. It's here to help you coordinate, communicate, and breathe — even when everything feels impossible.
